This is caused from my job, which is very physical, and I can’t just take time off to let it heal. In fact, I just went back yesterday, after being off a month due to a miscarriage (yes, the pain went away after the first couple of weeks, but my first day back, it’s here again). I am limited on what medications I can take, especially for pain, because I’m on coumadin therapy. Heat or cold treatment doesn’t seem to help, either. I have a lower back support for when I’m lifting, but it does nothing for the upper back (and I have no problems with the lower back). Are there upper back supports available to the general public (in extra large sizes), and if so, where would I get one? I need non-drug relief ideas please.

I am only 14 years old, but recently I have been having shooting and throbbing pain in my upper back, in my chest, and on the upper left part of my body. I know that it isn’t a heart attack or anything like that but I need some reassurance, and whether I should see a doctor immediately.
no I haven’t been doing anything really out of the usual as far as exercise goes.
Also it just happens at different times of the day. It seems as though it comes and goes on its own

If you have a herniated Disc, do you have extreme back pain constantly or is it off and on?
I am showing symptoms of a Herniated Disc.
I have horrible pain when I sit and when I stand up its hard to straighten my back right away. It hurts really bad walking after setting. It hurts extremely when I bend down to pick something up or tie my shoe. Its all in the lower part of my back.

I’ve been experiencing hip and groin pain at night and early in the morning. Also, back pain (mid to lower regions) is present throughout the day. I know that there has to be some exercise techniques that I can do to alleviate the pain.
Keep in mind that I’m 5 1/2 months pregnant and need some safe exercise suggestions.
I’m getting more and more frustrated with the entire process. Damn that Eve

I’ve suffered with back pain for six months now, and after having numerous physiotherapy treatments, I’ve now been referred to podiartry. I’ve heard Pilates can help people in my position and just wondered if anyone knew of a good pilates dvd to tackle back pain.
If anyone has tried and tested any Pilates dvd please let me know, I’m desperate for some relief! Thanks.

Okay, so I have been having really bad upper back pain, usually its either around one scapula or the other. Sometimes its a cramping, sometimes a pinching, sometimes just a soreness, sometimes a stabbing, and more recently a burning pain, but any kind of pain I have is excruciating. I have been to a couple different doctors, see my chiropractor on a weekly basis, I’ve had x-rays, and none of them can figure out what is wrong with me. Has any one ever had this kind of inconsistent, excruciating type of pain, and what caused it for you?
On another note, I have always been prescribed Vicodin by doctors, and it doesn’t matter if i eat or drink milk before taking them, they make me so sick that I usually throw up. They used to be fine, but I seem to have developed some sort of allergy because they also make me itchy and they do the opposite of making me sleepy. I also have a tolerance to them because of how long I’ve had to take them. Any suggestions on another type of medicine that might not have these side effects, and might help with the pain, and make it possible to go to sleep?
Thank you in advance if you answer.

Ok here’s the deal, I’m 23 years old (I’ll be 24 this December) and I had an MRI about a month ago, found out that I have a herniated disc in my lower back. Here’s my problem, I’ve always had back pain but it’s just never been this severe and I use to always see the chiropractor. I’m just upset since this is my 3rd week off of work, the pain is still in my hips down into my left leg, sometimes my left toes and at night when I try to sleep the pain is just 10x more severe. I don’t want surgery this young in my life, physical therapy seems to make it hurt worse and I don’t really know any other at home remedies? Anyone else have this problem with some suggestions? I tried putting the vinegar into my bathwater to drawl the pain out but now I’m itching like crazy since I forgot I’m allergic to vinegar. Forgot to mention, I have a heating blanket I sleep on at night but even with it being on the lowest setting sometimes it still gets too hot. I tried the IcyHot and that only lasts for so long. Plus the doctor gave me percosets (oxycodine) and I don’t like taking them unless I just hurt that bad which is why I’m on here trying to find an alternative. Help, please?
No definatly not over weight- I’m just right actually, I’m 5′6 at 130lbs.
Okay so no more heating pack and stay on the perc’s – awesome

For years I have had this soreness/stinging in my upper back. It is on both sides below my shoulder blades and on my spine. It feels like burning, stinging pain. It does get worse the more I do certain tasks like gardening or repitive motions. I have been to the doctor and he puts me on anti imflammatory meds. They help for a while but it always comes back. Any ideas?
