Back Pain Sleeping Mattress

back pain sleeping mattress
Unusual Question…could a tempurpedic foam mattress topper cause back pain?

I have a pretty new bed (only about 2 years old) thats good quality and has extra an extra support bar built into the middle of the mattress to keep it from sinking. Even though its comfortable, I got one of those tempurpedic type foam toppers thats about 2 1/2 or 3 inches thick b/c its INCREDIBLE to sleep on and you just sink into it. The only prob is that a few weeks after getting it, Im now waking up with a lot of back pain and Im wondering if this can be due in any way to the softest of the topper.

The bed itself is unable to give a person back pains. But any back pains you may be experiencing may be from lack of back support or from the position you are used to sleeping in.

I would suggest switching the way you sleep:
*If you sleep on your side, place pillows under your knees so that your knee is in line with your hip.
*If you sleep on your back, try placing a rolled up pillow under your knees. It helps with lower back tension.
*if you sleep on your stomach, place a pillow under your abdomen.

These three suggestions should help straighten you back and help get rid of back pain.

Back Pain Office Chair

back problem?

About 8 years ago I landed hard on my feet while playing netball, and felt pain in my back, on my spine, between my shoulder blades.
Over the years the pain in my back comes and goes. Cold weather is a common cause. About 6 years ago the pain was quite bad, so I went off to get a CT scan on my back. The CT scan didn’t show that anything was wrong.
About 5 years ago, I went to a chiropractor and he said that 2 of my vertebra’s were jammed together and I need my spine stretched out. I went back to him a few times, but gave up after no results.
Since quitting netball and not doing much physical activity, I haven’t noticed the back pain much, but recently (with the help of an office chair). My back has started to ache again in that same spot. And if you push on the vertebra it hurts
Any ideas what it could be? It’s been 8 years!

Sounds like you have a mild herniated disc (disc bulge). I recommend either of these professionals to help you with the mild disc bulge. They’re trained in correcting disc herniations.

Physical therapist trained in McKenzie method. (need MD referral)

http://www.mckenziemdt.org/

Chiropractor trained in Gonstead method.

Both of these highly trained specialists are the very best in their professions. Don’t go to any regular PT or chiropractor, it won’t help.

For the mean time, apply cold pack to that disc for 20 mins on and 40 mins off to reduce the swollen disc. Repeat as necessary for pain control. Do not use heat, you’ll make the disc swell and make it worse.

Is my back pain a sign of a kidney problem?

I'm really not sure if it.. If I twist a certain way it hurts, but If I lay still I feel nothing.
but i'm only a teen

Depending on where the pain in your back is it could be related to the kidney (an example only).

I would recommend letting your mom know what's going on so that she can help you keep an eye on the situation.

What do I do to get rid of chest and back pain when I eat and swallow?

im 14 years old and ive been experiencing some back pains and chest pain. the back pain went away but the chest is stilll here. it mainly hurts when i swallow or eat. please help me . i dont know what to do. ive seen my doctor but he didint talk about it much.

You need to go back to the Doctor and get a referral to see a Gastroenterologist.

There are a few conditions that involve the oesphagus such as Achalasia that cause pain/discomfort in the chest after eating and drinking.

The Gastroenterologist's are the best to diagnose your problem and treat it as General Doctor's tend to just fob you off until it gets so bad you can't handle the pain and loose a lot of weight.

It also happened to me.
So be persistent.
These things are best treated quickly and sooner, rather than later.

Passing a kidney stone. Part 3.

On Wednesday the 7th of January I was tripped at work unleashing a previously unfelt kidney stone in my right kidney.

By Saturday night, the 10th the pain increased.
By Sunday afternoon I was in the emergency room at our local hospital.
Hours later I was transfered by ambulance to a major hospital.
The next afternoon I was transfered again to another hospital where I was to spend the next 8 days.

The stone finally passed from the kidney into the ureters and bladder early Monday morning about 1:30am in a tearing pain.

They are still inside my bladder, although I am finally now home, waiting to pass fully out.

By the way, the employee who was not following OS&S has most likely lost his job as my back is also injured. Great! Not!

And how much did the 3 ambulance rides? 11 days in a private room in hospital? 3CT scans? 3 x-rays? Nuclear body scan? An IVP kidney/bladder scan? 17 blood tests? Physio? Medication and extras cost???? NOT A THING!!!!

I love our health care system.
