Heart Disease and Hiatus Hernia does anyone know of any complications of having both these together, I do have

a lot of pain from my Heart and also find it difficult to breath which i think is from the Hernia as it is above my diaphragm, even through I have been in hospital for a week all the weight I put on as fallen of me as it is very uncomfortable to eat and sometimes drink.
Any info both medical or from someone with a similar experience would be appreciated.
Thanks

TO bad I cannot help you in person. Try to find a chiro that can adjust your diaphram for you so you can breath again… or a D.O.

upper middle stomach pain from last 8 months?

I have pain my upper middle stomach, My all reports blood test, urine test, stool test, upper GI endoscopy, Barrium meal follow, thyroid, vit.B12 all are normal, but still in month 2 or 3 times I have pain in my upper GI & go away after 2 days without taking any medicine, help me ?

I had similar pain. I found that I was constipated. The American diet using white flour and sweets is not good. I started fasting the evening meal and taking castor oil about once or twice a week. Castor oil tastes nasty but works the quickest for getting the bowels moving. I have lost about 30 lbs and could stand to loose about 30 more, but now I feel much better.

I have back pain of varies causes. Do chiropartors really help straighten the spine?

I am female, 44, been painting 25 yrs and had trauma to my back. My neck has spurs, at times pinch my nerves and there is narrowing between the disk. The pain is all right sided. With one crooked disc between me shoulder blades. My L3, L4 are narrowing, L5 bludging and S1 grinding. This is from a MRI. My OD doctor has given me coristone (steroid), did'nt work. So, he gave me painkillers I don't want to take. He said I'm not bad enough for an operation. Three years ago I tried a chiropator for about 2.8 years regularly, neck felt better but nothing else. Now I'm seeing another whose saying he can straighten (align) my back and help with the pain, but how does it help with a hernitated dics, narrowing and spurs? I need advice. What about hanging upside down? Oh Yea, I have 3 treatments with him now the bottom of my foot is numb, but it does that from time to time. Also I do stretch alot ,I have too. Can anyone help advise me? Thank you so much!

I agree with Patti. Following through with chiropractic care is vital for its success, but if you feel unsatisfied with your current doctor, maybe you should consider trying another. There are MANY different chiropractic techniques out there, so some people respond differently to different techniques.

One technique that works to actually correct the position of the spine is CBP (Chiropractic Biophysics), which uses traction and exercises in addition to adjustments to restore the spine to its proper position. Adjustments are to relieve neural interference caused by pinched nerves, traction works like dental braces (in that you sit in a very specific position that works against the bad posture) to slowly move the spine into a better position, and exercises strengthen the ligaments and muscles so they are able to support the new posture.

As for herniated disks, there is something called a DRX9000 machine that uses the idea of "anti gravity" to relieve pressure from the disks so the fluid inside is sucked/pulled back into the center. I used to work in a chiropractic office, and some patients swore by the machine and others didn't, so it's all up to you.

These are just some things to look into if you're interested. After working in the chiro office, I am now in school to become a chiropractor.

How can I reduce muscle spasm in my pubic bone and pelvis area?

I think I just discovered the source of all my pain and believe its all in my pelvic area. Im not sure if i have a pelvic tilt that is causing muscle spasm and inflammation down my legs.
I suffer from Plantar Fasciitis a great deal and low back pain from a car accident.
I've had all the conventional therapy so Im looking for a REAL answer please, not some guess.
Here's what Ive done already:
physical therapy
chiropractic therapy
massage therapy
accupuncutre
drug therapy
custom orthotics
inversion table therapy
stretching and massage on the legs/feet

I think pelvic muscles and my illiopsoas might be the cause of all this. i have noticed muscle inflammation right at the tip of my pubic bone on both sides, predominantly in the left side, above the groin area. I also have left hip pain everday when i stretch.

how an i reduce muscle spasm in my pelvis area? Are there certain stretches and exercises I should be doing? I cant jog or run, so anything but that. Thanks!!!
Im thinking this could also be connected to the Iliopsoas Muscle that deals with the hip flexor… and if im walking incorrectly its causing problems down my leg, foot pain and tension in calf muscles.
As I have already said…….I HAVE ALREADY BEEN ON ANTI-INFLAMMATORIES….ie. "DRUG THERAPY"
Please refrain from witty comments about praying or dumb speculation that its a hormonal problem. its not.

Does anyone know anything about pelvic/illiopsoas muscle function???

First have you been checked out by a Doctor? Second if so did they state any findings? If it is inflammation they should have given you anti-inflammatory drugs and for muscle spasms a muscle relaxant. Once you have had a course of that drug treatment then you can start the physical therapy. However if you are not on these drugs, then no physical therapy will work. Best of Luck

Pain in back and right side 34 weeks pregnant?

Since yesterday i have had pains in my back around to my right side. I don't think its contractions they would be on both sides right? Been really tired and ill . Baby has been very active as well.Pain isnt associated with any movement. It comes and goes and is not regular, just every few mins. Ive always been induced so i do not know true labor. Any suggestions on to ease the pain besides more pillows is appreciated… Or anyone else with these symptons please share your story…
Went to the doc yesterday. She said relax. But the baby's head is not down and was 2 weeks ago
Doctor said to relax and get some rest. I am a mother of 3 now so maybe i am doing to much. Anyone know any positions i should be in to help the baby drop his head where its supposed to be and stay there?

yes!
i had these that started at 32 weeks. stitch-type pain on my side. its the ligaments stretching and only rest can help it. i found that when i woke up in the morning i would be ok for about 10 min then it would come back again! ahhhh
and its the position of the baby too. somtimes they sit on the nerves and this causes the pain, and also back pain coz of the pressure.
I was induced with my first coz she was 10 days over and no sign of wanting to come out!
but with my second, i got slight tightening pain in my lower abdomen. Its very similar to period cramps.
I still had to be induced coz they were getting stronger but it went on for 3 days and i had enough!
when you feel tight period-type cramps (but alot worse of course) then this is the beginning of contractions. but it doesnt seem like you will go anytime soon, coz the side pain and back pain are from what i said above.
you will be relieved to know the pain will go away after bub is born (oh, so long away) but just relax and dont lift anything too heavy coz this will aggrivate it.
Hope all goes well and you feel better soon.

Anyone know of alternative pain relief methods for chronic pain.?

I have severe pain in my legs. I have had hip replacement surgery and take 300 mgs of Morphine sulfate, 60 mgs of Hydrocodone and various benzodiazapines on a daily basis. This is under the care of a doctor in a pain management clinic.

Those are some pretty strong drugs you are taking. And you still hurt or are you wanting to get off the drugs?

I don't know of any other alternative that can handle that much pain except maybe a chiropractor but even then it's really tricky with a hip replacement. I have a herniated disk in my back and a chiropractor wouldn't touch it because it was pressing on a nerve. I take Loracet 20mg 4 times a day to be able to work.

Getting off the drugs would be a slow task. You'd have to wean yourself off but if you are having that much pain I wouldn't do it unless your doctor says so. It's all with doctors, hon.

Pain in middle of back – hurts when I sneeze?

I have a weird pain in the middle of my back on the right side (if your looking at it from behind me), I've had it for a few days. It hurts when I sneeze or breathe hard. Any possible ideas on what it is?

Sounds like a small muscle tear. If you cough, sneeze, or breathe hard, it hurts. If it doesn't clear up after a few days of non-physical-stress, then go see the doc.

Kidney Stones or Back Pain?

I've been having sharp pains in my lower, right below th ribs, and I was wondering whether they are just back pains or kidney stones. I pretty much feel pain all the time with sudden sharp pains, been going on for about 9 hours now, I can barely walk, but if I lay on my stomach the sharp pains go away. I think their back pains since I can barely walk, just sorta shuffle around.

The kidney can cause those very same symptoms. It does not have to be just back pain although you could have also pinched a nerve (spine) that causes constant pain and sharp pains when stressed in a specific way or position.

I would say go and see someone immediately and get and ultrasound / CT scan to find out. But since you are posting here I assume you have no health insurance?

It would not have to be stones, most likely they will check your urine first. If you are afraid of the cost have someone go to the pharmacy for you and purchase a urine test strip that checks for Nitrite (positive means bacterial infection bladder and / or kidney) and leukocytes (white blood cells).

If both are pos. you have a definite bladder infection, double pos. means the kidneys are likely infected too. Is there discomfort bladder wise?

Does warmth help subside the pain or rather cooling pads? Where does heat / cold need to be applied to help? Bladder, kidney area or different place altogether (hints nerve or other cause)

If this seems not to be the case, see if a hot bath helps the back pain then. Have your partner if possible give you a massage with oil / lotion to ease the tension. Think about if you have lifted something heavy anything to sprain muscles or pinch nerves. Get some sports lotion for sprained muscles at the pharmacy and rub that on. Does not help? A pinched nerve also needs a doc / chiropractor.

But by all means possible see a doctor if you cannot wing it by yourself.
