Internal left upper back pain?

I am having internal pain on my left upper back about where my heart would be at. It feels somethinh like how a bruise would feel with a needle poking when I breath deep or move my body a certain way. Sometimes it will feel a bit tight like it needs to be stretched but if I'm working out and my heart is pumping at a faster rate it seems be be less painful. Through 1 being least painful to five being severe i'm at maybe a two when normal. Doesn't hurt much but i feel it. Yes I smoke ciggarettes and drink on weekends but i've stopped smoking. I'm alway's at work, young and worried. Can anybody give me an answer would be appreciated.

Sometimes gas can get trapped in that upper area (I've had it happen to me before) but this also sounds like a muscle strain (this is just an example only) could be causing some of this.

Also, sometimes a problem with the thyroid can cause the heart to beat a bit faster or slower.

The only way to know for sure what's going on is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they say.

Any one got any good Back Pain remedies?

I have multiple disk compression and herniation…often i wake up with a bad back ache…anyone got any good remedies that work for them…ill try just about anything to get rid of this pain…i think most is in my muscles from moving due to pain…who knows…Thanks for the replies…Happy 4th..

If you have "multiple disc compression and herniation" then you don't need home remedies, you need a good doctor. Who told you all these diagnosis and why weren't they repaired or some type of pain control?

You need an orthopedic surgeon and most probably an operating room if you have what you say, your looking at a lot of trouble and more pain from further harm due to neglect.

I would see a doctor if I were you.

I have lower back pain due to arthritis, I 'm only 42 what exercises can I do to strengthen my back.?

I use the treadmill every other day, I can't do situps . What about using weights, I smoke pot to relieve the pain but not every day.

Swimming is the best exercise. You're not putting force on any joints and it exercises all of your muscles. the other exercise I would recommend would be Yoga.

I've enclosed a link where you can read about some natural treatments for arthritis.

intense pain in right side thru back?

I had my gallbladder removed a little over a year ago and ever since then I have been getting severe pain in my right side/back. It is very intense and nothing calms it down. I have tried tylenol, ibuprofen, etc. When the pain comes I can't even move it is so bad. I have been in to see doctors and they say it is muscle related and to just give it time but it happens all the time for a year now. What do you think it could be?

Honestly…I had the same exact pain a few years ago..I just cant remember if it was my left or right side…it does make a difference….I ended up going to the ER and found out I have a Kidney Infection….If it gets worse dont hesititate to go to the hospital

upper left side abdominal pain?

my girlfriend has a very bad pain in her upper left side abdominal region, she said it feels like a knife is stuck in her, we think it may be her kidney or maybe just a muscle spasm. does anyone know what this is? should we go to the hospital?

she should go to the hospital if and or:she has a fever, is sweating, the pain stays the same or increases, her urine looks dark, or is less in quantity than usuall, vomiting and or diarrhea. if any of these occur, she may be having a kidney stone, kidney infection, pancreatitis or even gall stones (i know the gb is on the right, but,,,).none of these conditions can be ignored.goodluck;)michele

What could be causing my upper left back/neck pain?

I'm 19 and for months i've been having problems with my left arm, back and neck.
It all started whilst i was at the computer typing away and i felt this sharpe pain in my upper left arm, which aswell has been on and off since, with a bit of tingling up and down my arm and a painful wrist.
Then a few weeks later i woke up with terrible upper left back/neck pain that was unbearable for 3 days, it did calm down. But i've had reacurrent bouts of it whilst waking and after a day of being busy or when i'm at the computer or not sitting properly.
The thing is i'm not sure whether the arm pain is related since it don't always come with the back/neck pain.
I finally went to see my doctor and she said she wasn't sure either, she said my arm pain could be RSI but then so could my back/neck pain, but did say it also could be a small neck misalignment and so booked me in to see a physio (can't spell it).
The upper back/neck pain can also give me headaches, and seems to make my left ear get blocked, and the pain can travel into my lower back and into my ribs, all on the left side.
I'm so confused.
Anyone got any ideas?
Xo.

I think the problem could be your posture. Have a look at how you are sitting. When you see the physiotherapist ask them about the best way to sit and hold yourself.

Also you should look at the site I have linked to in sources. It has information on ergonomics. This is how people should work and move to avoid injury. Something on here or a related site might give you the detail you need to change your workspace to a more person friendly space.

For the actual pain I suggest heat packs which you put in the microwave to heat and then place against the area which is hurting. Also, stop working when the pain starts, do not try to push through it. Just go and lie down in a comfortable position and let the muscles relax.
