Back Pain Belt

What will help lower back pain from standing on hard floor at work?

I stand on a hard floor for 8 hours a day (everyday) at work. By the time I go home my back is hurting so bad I find it hard to stand up-right and walk. Back belts are not allowed. Is there anything I can do to ease the pain while I’m working?

Make sure you have a really good pair of comfortable but sturdy shoes and maybe try getting some gel insoles. I’m not sure what your job is, but if you can, you could try asking your boss to put down some kind of carpeting or other dampening material that would help take away the strain..

Neck Pain Heartburn

neck pain heartburn
I have monthly chest pain and I can’t figure out whst causes it. Any Ideas?

Every month (not during that time of the month-sorry males) I get this stabbing burning feeling in my neck and upper chest. Its been happening for years and I’m not a doctor person. It doesnt feel like heartburn especially since its on the left or right side of neck, its only sometimes the esophagus. any ideas?
No. Its not some food related effect. I never eat the same thing the times it occurs. Drinking water seems to help but I don’t know if it actually helps or if it helps because i expect it to.

You say it happens every month.Have you noticed if you eat a certain food before it happens? It could be acid reflux.Try to think back on each time it happened and see if a certain food or ingrediant in the food is the same each time it happens.I f it is then you can try to eliminate that food group and see if that helps.I have also heard and read many things about people drinking,Apple Cidar Vineager, when they have this acid reflux, and it’s supposed to help.Taste nasty though.

Upper Back Pain Fever

Natural treatment options for upper and lower back pain

Vital to a healthy back are the midsection of the body, good posture, weight control, spinal alignment, rest and stress management.

The many underlying causes of upper or lower back pain may be one or several conditions, such as arthritis, osteoporosis, infection and fever, tumours, weak stomach muscles, peptic ulcer, emotional tension or stress, female problems, gallstones lodged in the common bile duct, pancreatitis, pulmonary embolism, slipped or ruptured disks or other spinal cord injuries, abnormal curvature of the spine and disorders of the urinary system.

Muscle strain or sprain results from excessive or improper physical exertion, incorrect posture, sleeping on soft beds or incorrect lifting. Obesity or simply carrying too much weight, flat feet and unequal leg length are other factors that may be responsible for back pain. Muscles can contract together in spasms that are very painful. A backpain that is accompanied with fever or a headache should receive medical attention.

The spine is a very complex structure which is never still. The slightest movement, including breathing, involves the spine. Man’s upright posture puts additional stress on the neck and lumbar regions, which are the commonest sites of back pain. The pain may be sharp and sudden in onset, or an ache may develop gradually over several hours or overnight. There is often an obvious cause such as unaccustomed activity, or a strain during strenuous movement (lifting, digging, twisting the trunk), but back pains may come on without relation to any particular activity.

Treating the pain naturally may help. Massage around the vertebrae is relaxing and relieves muscle tension. Relaxation techniques will lessen pain and aid healing. Chiropractic or osteopathic treatment can help. Treatment of acute attacks consists traditionally of rest, local heat and simple pain killers. Natural pain killers include the herb White willow, and the amino combination DL Phenylalanine. Inflammation can also be relieved by the use of herbs such as Wild Yam, Turmeric, Boswellia and the herbal combination Yucca AR. We always recommend a supplement of anti inflammatory oils in a combination such as Efamarine (contains fish oil and evening primrose oil). If pain is severe enough to keep you on your back, or if it hasn’t improved considerably in two or three days, consult your back care provider. Early treatment on your back often speeds recovery, and your back care provider will recommend exercises, postural correction and care in movements to prevent or reduce further back problems.

Certain nutrients are essential for maintaining a healthy back. Protein is necessary for firm supporting tissue, however animal sources will contain uric acid and are best avoided until your back is healed. Spirulina and chlorella are excellent natural sources of protein, as are soy products. Magnesium is essential for the proper contraction of muscles in the body and a deficiency of this can cause muscles to become tense, which could lead to back problems. Magnesium Complex is a good supplement.

Neck Pain Behind Ear

neck pain behind ear
Is this muscle pain or a nerve problem?

I’ve been having a shooting, sharp pain for a few months now that starts at the back of my head and shoots down the whole left side of my neck. The pain starts behind my ear, and it goes down the entire length of neck ending at my shoulder blade. This only happens on the left side and it comes suddenly and ends suddenly. There’s no warning when it comes and depending on the day it can last for a few minutes or a few hours. I’m not sure if its a muscle or a nerve. I feel that it may be a nerve since when it happens it only have in one particular place and goes straight down my neck, but it never happens on the right side.

I don’t play sports and the only exercise I do its the treadmill.

If it is a nerve what exactly am I suppose to do about it and can I can take something over the counter for it?

It is just work stress. Don’t think on which side the pain’s working just try to relax when it happens and close your eyes thinking the best moment of your life. But never stress on mind when it happens. Don’t sit in front of your T. V., computer or don’t use any of your techno gadgets for a long time (try avoiding them even if it’s listening to your walkman or music system). If you are working, please take rests after every half or one hour of working and then continue and never stress your brain while working. If its possible watch T. V. from a distance of atleast 5ft and if its very urging, listen to calm music with very low volume pts.
