Hello.
I am a 21 year old female, mother of one (7month old baby boy).
In short…
I woke up one day, 2years ago now, feeling extremely dizzy and sick. Having suffered for a week or so, I went to the doctor who gave me tablets for vertigo.
These did absolutely nothing so i went back. Since then, I have been to the doctors at least 3times a month, every month, for the past 2years.
The best way to describe my symptoms is for me to list them…:
- Dizziness – sort of imbalanced, feel as though the floor is rocking (like a boat) 24/7
- Nausea – more so when the dizziness is really bad. This is really hard to live with as feeling sick is not nice for just one day, i have this feeling every single day for 2years straight.
- Heavy neck – My head feels too heavy for my body. Very uncomfortable.
- Feeling of a swollen throat – although my throat doesnt look swollen, it feels as if it is inside. also a feeling of having something trapped in throat very low down. no problems swallowing though.
- Tired – my whole body aches daily. I feek as though i hardly sleep yet i get at least 8 hours a night!
- Weakness – On most days I can barely move. I struggle to simply lift a fork to my mouth to eat.
- Abdominal pains – very low in abdo (womb area) and high in abdo (beneath ribs). these pains are very sharp almost stabbing like.
This is really getting me down. I have tried going to the doctors for help yet they seem to be coming up with nothing at all. They have referred me for an MRI of the head and cervical spine, which, after a ridiculous 10weeks! came back as normal. I had an ultrasound scan to check for goulstones back in April of 2008, again a normal result. I have had numerous blood tests (by which i mean approx. one a month). Up until 8 – 10 weeks ago there was never an abnormality in my results, however, the last 3 blood tests have shown wht my doctors call an ‘inflammatory marker’ as being abnormal. when i ask my doc what that means they simply say that it shows that i have an infection or inflammation somewhere in my body – then send me home with nothing.
I believe that the ‘inflammatory marker’ does not have much to do with it as this has only been present for 8-10weeks yet I have been unwell for around 2years!
This illness is so bad that most days I spend laying down due to the overwhelming dizziness i feel. I have not left the house on my own since this problem started. I am also unable to do simple things such as holding my little boy due to the weakness that i feel. many times my partner has had to help steady me to walk to the bathroom it is that bad. I DO tel my doctors this, (i have seen 7 different GPs, 4 a&e doctors, various consultants and 3 or 4 nurses), yet they still send me home with no answers and no treatment.
Sorry for the long post, I would be grateful for any suggestions as to what this could be?
Thank you in advance for any replies x
Have them check for lyme disease. I have the same symptoms , sometimes I need a walker to walk. Not very often anymore, thank goodness. I saw a thing on tv on lyme and asked my doctor to test for it and sure enough it came back positive. I have no recollection of being bit by a tick. Most doctors wont even want to test for it because there is so much controversy and even if they do, so many people test negative even thoug they have it. Search lyme disease and go to the ILADS website, also look up the movie under our skin. Good luck to you!
Has anyone else experienced this? I don’t know if it has to do with breastfeeding or not- but ever since I have been doing so I get this feeling- don’t know if it’s back pain or my lungs- but it’s the feeling you get when you fall and land on your back & the wind is knocked out of you. I only get it at night & it doesn’t matter if I lye on my back or either side- I have to keep changing in the night. Anyone?
If you just started breastfeeding, I guess it is safe to assume that you have a new baby, and I think that is the source of your new back pain. When you are caring for an infant you bend over to change the diaper, you bend over to check on them in the cradle, you bend over to pick them up, you bend over to lay them down, over and over and over. That, along with the weight of the baby you are handling, is what is causing your pain.
You need to start being very careful about your posture whenever you bend. Keep your back straight and bend at the hips. Try and get someone else to help handle the baby and all of the other household stuff that requires bending. And, except for the baby, it is okay if some stuff doesn’t get done. You need to rest your back more, and take it easy until your back starts feeling better. You could try some easy stretches if they don’t cause increased pain.
In a few days when the pain is better you can start doing some stretches to improve your range of motion and mobility. When the pain will allow it you could start doing some strengthening exercises to prevent this from happening again.
You can read more about stretching and strengthening exercises for your back at:

Good Luck, and let me know how you’re doing.

The ultrasound technician found multiple fibroids on the outside of my uterus durning my ultrasound in Dec. My doctor told me at my last appt. that the largest one is the size of a softball. I have to go in for another ultrasound the end of the month and if it has grown, it possibly will have to be surgically removed before I deliver in April. Has anyone else had one this big and what happened during your last trimester. I know everyone is different but I’m just curious. This large fibriod has been causing me discomfort and pain for the last 3 months.
I feel for you! I too have fibroid tumor growth, but on the inside of my uterus. During my gall bladder surgery they tried to investigate further, only to discover it was inside my uterus forcing me to hang on until the end of my pregnancy to decide what to do.
The pain is very uncomfortable, and initially they found it because I was in so much pain that it was presenting as a ruptured appendix! So far, there hasn’t been anything besides having a warm bath or relaxing which has eased the discomfort for me. Even a warm cloth is nice to aid in some of the discomforts.
Gently massaging the area could also help you in the meantime.
Wishing you all the best, and try to relax as much as possible.
It’s almost over!
Im only a teenager, and in July I went for an Mri of my neck b/c it was very painful…the dr saw a tumor, which he ASSUMED was benign. Stupid me, I listened. Last week I went back to a diff dr for back, lower abdominal, and even more severe neck pain..to the point where I’m up all night and can not breathe. I got an mri, and the neck mass looks at least twice as big D: My lungs and spleen have been hurting too, I have night sweats to the point where I can swim in them, extreme headaches and exhaustion, and wheezing…is it possible for it to be cancer??? THE OTHER DR PROMISED IT WASN’T! The tumor is in the bone…isn’t that bad???
Hodgkins disease maybe??? I have itchy skin, ear pain, throat pain, and the neck mass…D:::
I NEVER GOT A BIOPSY, for the dr thought it wasn’t needed.

Cancer can affect a person at any age. There are so many children afflicted with cancer which is why you have pediatric oncologists. But that is besides the point. At present you only seem to have a growth and that needs to be checked by professionals. Don’tt imagine the worst. In the mean time what you can do is to alter your diet in such a way that you become healthy quickly before any one tells you otherwise.
You need to make your diet as alkaline as possible. Please visit the ‘Budwig protocol’ or diet on the net. That will give you a simple and easy way to improve your diet in such a way that you will improve your health rapidly. Another thing you can do is to take Transfer Factor Plus of 4life Research, USA which I consider to be the best support for such conditions. It quickly boosts the immune system to knock off any abnormal cells. Eat plenty of raw vegetables and green leafy vegetables. Avoid sugar totally and so also processed food / junk food etc. I know it sound harsh but if you are tough now, you will have a much easier time later on.
If the problem has been unfortunately diagnosed as cancer, I think you should visit www.beating-cancer-gently.com which can be of great help to you. Have you had any dental work done to you recently which involved root canal surgery / mercury fillings of cavities? That can be a cause for such problems to arise. If you eliminate the caue, the problem will disappear quickly. All the best.

It is very unusual for a doctor to assume anything. Your doctor would have gotten his information from the radiologist that read your MRI. Clearly there is something wrong if it doubled in size in 5 months. It is impossible to know if this is cancer or not. What did the last MRI report state?
