Yes, definitely see a doctor immediately because even if the pain isn't serious, you'd feel a LOT better knowing what it was related to.

Have you been doing strenuous exercising or work that could have
caused the pain .Does it come at certain times of day or activity ?
I think if its been going on for awhile you should get some advice from
a doctor to ease your mind.

I do not recognize your symptoms with herniated disc. I was pain free and able to walk, talk, bend down, sit and so on and I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. I literally just stood up from a kitchen chair took two steps and lost my legs! The pain was around my bikini line and excruciating. This happened three times and eventually I had a MRI, which revealed a prolapsed disc resting near to the nerve roots to my legs, bowel, bladder. They started me on Fentanyl Patch and few weeks later I had another painful session that left me unable to walk, let alone stand, so wheelchair user. I was in the wheelchair for over eight weeks, but I am now back to walking, sitting and so on, mobile. What your symptoms remind me of is a muscle spasm in your lower back and that is worse than a disc prolapse. The disc, well bending forward relieves the pain as it give space between the vertebrae. However muscle spasm, bending forward induces pain. Hope that helps.

It could be. An MRI should give you this answer. Go to a pain clinic and think about getting epidural injections into your spine. Avoid surgery till the last resort.

With sciatica there is always a pain that radiates down the leg. You are not describing any pain that is running that way. You are speaking about specific lower back pain that could be coming from degenerative changes in the vertebrae. When this happens the lower back becomes very painful to move. Sitting places more pressure on the lower back than standing. Walking will cause pain after a short while and this makes me think that you have spinal stenosis. That is degeneration of the vertebrae and with any movement pain is generated. See your doctor and ask for a referral to a physical therapist.

Your going to feel discomfort throughout your whole pregnancy. I would call the doctor immediately just in case if there's something wrong.

ive had this also and let me tell you it gets worse!! yikes! what has got me through it is stretching before i go to bed. Im not saying be a gymnast but stretching out those areas really does help. One of my fave positions is get on my hands and knees and curve my back inward then curve it out ward. I also tend to lay on my back and move one leg to the other side and then repeat with the other. Warm baths also help the tension and Ive also taken up walking 45 minutes a day. It really does help and though the pain and discomfort hasn't disappeared it has not been as bad. Congratulations on the pregnancy and soon you will have your little one to hold!

oh yah!!! i almost forgot. Try getting a maternity belt. It has done wonders in my eyes and helps take off some of the pressure during the day when you are walking!!

First wait until you see the Podiatrist, as you may have a 'gait' problem, walk out of alignment, or your feet may be rolling. If you end up with insoles, it will take a time for them to work, readjust your alignment. Pilate's, well my experience was to see a PT, then join a class to get the idea of muscle groups, how to first find them and then exercise them. Once I learn that, got my core strength, then I started with a DVD at Home. I picked mine up at a Supermarket and then another one I got Free inside the Sunday News Paper. Pilate's is just that, a strict form of exercise that once you learn, you will never forget. Therefore, any DVD will be the same set of exercises, you only have to decide if you want a famous person to show you, or a ordinary person. Best of Luck
