What disease causes neck and back pain and muscle rigidity?

There are too many causes for back-neck pain and muscle rigidity to list here. Some are common to a lot of us and others are the symptoms of some pretty serious medical conditions. If you over exercise, or even sit for too long in one position, you will experience back-neck pain. If you have arthritis or rheumatism, you also could experience pain in that area. If you are experiencing neck-back pain for a while and over the counter meds have not helped and you do not have an idea what is causing the symptoms, it might be time to make an appointment and see your doctor. Your body is good about telling you that somethings needs to be checked out.

Neck/Back Pain, Whiplash injury, head & chest pain?

I had a car accident in December just 2 weeks after giving birth and suffered whiplash – I was told where my ligaments were softened still from the pregnancy the recovery could be longer. I have been having physio for this. I have been getting neck and back pain but also lately I get headaches (up into the back of the skull), chest pain and shoulder pain. Do you think this is all in relation to the injury? These latest symptoms have only come on recently but I have been told everything can be related? I am fed up of taking painkillers, are there any natural pain relief available that anyone else has tried that is good and how long does it normally take for things to get back to normal? Bearing in mind, I have a young baby that requires a lot of lifting etc that I can’t rest.

All of life is related and is in constant motion and interactions so a nexus can be placed with your injury to the collision…or something else too.

Regardless of that, I would continue with Physical Therapy and the pain meds as necessary. Maybe you can locate a good chiropractor and acupuncturist too.

I found that the people who are elders who are willing to learn and change their beliefs with practice and experience work the best….

If you can, try getting into a pool for PT…maybe bring baby with you and you both can have fun…

Have known of a man who they said would not walk but with his Friend and a year of PT in a pool…he was walking

Concussions among high school football players a major concern

The first apparent concussion happened sometime during a football game early last season, and Joey De Stefano did his best to ignore it. He kept trying to tough it out, even after another jarring hit in practice the following week left him nauseated and dizzy.

How long does it take to recover from the pain of bulging discs and whats the best treatment?

Just over a month and a half ago, I hurt my back doing repetitive heavy lifting at work, only to find out that as a result, I have two bulging discs and slight retrothesis of my L5. After a month of finding this out, I was involved in a car crash where I received bad whiplash and re-sprained my back. How long should I expect my recovery to take and what the best way to help with my recovery?

I had to have Epidural Steriod Injections in my back. I had three of them and they worked this time but the first time I had to have back surgery on L-4-L5. They put in a metal rod and screws and it took me a year to get better over that. After I had the ESI it took about six months to get better, this too was the results of a car accident. Good Luck, know you are in pain

Back Pain Inversion Table

would love to hear from anyone who has used an inversion table like teeter hang ups. is it ok for back pain?

thinking of buying a hang upside down table,Can anyone offer advice on which kind and if theyre worth it?

I’ve used an inversion table now for about 3 months. Its great for instant relief if you have the type of back pain that involves pinched nerve or compression damage to the spine.

I use mine about once per day for 3 minutes but if my back pain is bad I will use it up to 3 times per day. Since using it my back problems have reduced but not gone completely but I’m hoping if I keep using it they will.

Before I bought the table I read alot of reviews but decided on Teeter Hang Ups for my Inversion Table after reading a bunch of review site such as this one: http://www.inversiontablereviews.net/teeter-inversion-table

Hope this helps, I’m not sure if it will solve all back problems but it works well for me and the instant relief available when I need it is great, but the relief only lasts for an hour or so then back to the inversion table ;)

Back Pain Chair Support

Back Pain?

Hello. I know you’re not all doctors, but I have a question about back pain (some of your might be familiar with it):

Here’s what happened:
Over a year ago, a girl fell on me in cheerleading. She was about four feet off the ground, and she when she fell, she completely pinned me to the ground. It hurt a lot at the time, but I didn’t really think anything serious of it.

Now, I have tail bone pain as well, so I was wondering if the pain could have radiated from the lower back into the tail bone. My tailbone started to hurt about 7 months after I hurt my back.
Also, it is not always pain in my back. Sometimes it is just discomfort, and I usually crack my back to relive that discomfort. It hurt when my I sit in a chair that does not have a straight back to it, or if I sit for a short period of time without back support.

Does this sound like a a fracture or anything?

Thanks. First to answer well will get the Best Answer.

it is hard to tell what is wrong with you or what is causing back pain. see a chiropractor or a physical therapist to get a good diagnosis. you must know what is going on. a pain can signal that there is something wrong with your body.

most cases of simple backache respond to pain relief measure like rest, aspirin and the application of heat applied by hot water or heating pad. in cases where pain persists or becomes more acute, a physician should be consulted. he may also locate a slipped disk or other abnormality in the alignment of the vertebrae of the spine.
