What can you do joint and muscle pain?
One of the most common questions I get: "I'm having pain in the knees and joints. My knees hurt even when I take the bike at the gym. Is there a certain exercise that can help strengthen my knees, or any other advice you can give? Someone said to take fish oil. "
Osteoarthritis, or "wear and tear" arthritis, is in fact common to all ages, more common as we age and remain physically active.
People can suffer from joint pain due to otherwise – inactivity. In fact, I think this is the cause of most common issues that have nothing to do with the injury. Like anything else, or we use our joints or we lose our joints. Over the years, if you have lived a sedentary life, you will see that the body changes in biochemistry to support only what you directing him to do so.
One of the things I talk about is how the body and spirit work together. Unfortunately, this is one of those moments when the mind is a mind of its own. I'll go out on a limb here and voice my opinion enthusiasm what happens. Some doctors pitch and shouting about it, but others come to me 100%. I'll let you decide. So I'll give you a few good solutions to help your knees and joint pain is not caused by chronic injury.
First, it is our old friend of calcium. Calcium is widely touted for conditions such as osteoporosis – however, the media does not give you a segment of history. The real culprit here is your hormones. As you age, unless you remain physically active (more so even than when you were young), the body changes its hormone production. levels of thyroid and testosterone levels decline. low testosterone has been directly linked to bone density problems. The lower levels, most fragile bones can become.
Enter osteoporosis.
These hormones also cause a drain on the nutrients in the body, including calcium. However, calcium replacement will not be healing the problem in many cases, for example, by replacing the water in a bucket with a hole in it. You have to plug the hole – which is best done through a hormonal management, dietary changes and exercise.
Consider thyroid the Mayo Clinic has published an article last week about the link between low thyroid problems and pains in joints and muscles. I overcame hypothyroidism and joint pain that accompanied it. You can, too. It takes some work, and in some cases, medical intervention, but often the levels thyroid can be managed naturally.
One of my friends, Jackie Lee, at the age of 72 years, seems, at best, 52 – and 22 acts. It is still falling, dances, teaches yoga, competes in the same figure and bodybuilding shows – and it is hypothyroidism was for decades. It manages through a combination of specific amino acids, its plane of nutrition lifestyle (she is a vegetarian, I'm not), and of course exercise. His story is very inspiring.
sense now, since we know that thyroid, testosterone and other hormones in the body have a lot to do with joint and muscle pain, is it not start there and work our way out for a solution? I think so.
Have you checked the levels of hormones. Some simple blood tests tell your doctor if you are hypothyroid (be sure to run free and reverse T3/T4 – many doctors do not work TSH, which is not enough) or if you have other hormonal issues. Solving these first.
Again, and I can not stress this enough, the issues of the hormone naturally many are resolved through exercise and nutrition. Believe me, I like them all. My hormones took a tumble at the start of my 20 years. Even if I need to compensate for the natural pituitary hormone defective my hormonal requirements are now less than half what they were. Through training and eating, I managed to cut me in two, drugs when I was obese. It is the power of exercise and nutrition.
Suppose that your hormones are well. What if you're just having "natural" wear and tear? Well, there are some excellent places of departure before the dive head throughout the cortisone injections.
First, do not take fish oil. Fish oil (EPA / DHA in correct proportions, as in the Carlson brand) does wonders for the joints and connective tissues, as well as a being of the healthiest substances you can put in your body. Fish oil has been shown to reduce markers of inflammation related to heart disease, reduce blood pressure, reduce the likelihood of stroke, and even control blood sugar. Many diabetics Type 2 are removed (Under the care of a doctor) medication with fish oil, exercise and proper nutrition.
Again, "good nutrition" is not a one-size-fits-all prescription. If you are 55 years and obese, you do not want to model the role of a personal trainer of 25 years the only fat which lies between his ears. Play someone who's been there. What because of the certainty, and certainty is the key to success.
Then, look in a maximum of three "stack" I recommend some of my clients who really suffer from joint pain: MSM (methylsulfonylmethane), Glucosamine and Chondroitin. Each work is a slightly different. Glucosamine has the greatest amount of medical research behind it, but MSM is considered a miracle cure "for many people. For others, it has limited use – but the "stack" is the best natural approach that I found, when combined with fish oil to relieve joints and muscles of the non-injury related pain.
Dosages vary, but a good start would be:
Glucosamine weight: 1.000 mg per 100 pounds of body
Chondroitin 400 mg 2-3x per day
MSM: 1000 mg 2x
Fish oil: 2-4 grams per day in liquid form (Carlson fish oil lemon taste really good)
Again, be sure to forward the recommendations of your doctor.
last move, but not least. You can start with yoga, believe it or not. Yoga can relieve joint and muscle pain as you would not believe. I used yoga stretches when I am injured lower back in 2002, and the healing has been remarkable.
