Natural Neck Pain Relief

Neck/Back Pain, Whiplash injury, head & chest pain?

I had a car accident in December just 2 weeks after giving birth and suffered whiplash – I was told where my ligaments were softened still from the pregnancy the recovery could be longer. I have been having physio for this. I have been getting neck and back pain but also lately I get headaches (up into the back of the skull), chest pain and shoulder pain. Do you think this is all in relation to the injury? These latest symptoms have only come on recently but I have been told everything can be related? I am fed up of taking painkillers, are there any natural pain relief available that anyone else has tried that is good and how long does it normally take for things to get back to normal? Bearing in mind, I have a young baby that requires a lot of lifting etc that I can’t rest.

All of life is related and is in constant motion and interactions so a nexus can be placed with your injury to the collision…or something else too.

Regardless of that, I would continue with Physical Therapy and the pain meds as necessary. Maybe you can locate a good chiropractor and acupuncturist too.

I found that the people who are elders who are willing to learn and change their beliefs with practice and experience work the best….

If you can, try getting into a pool for PT…maybe bring baby with you and you both can have fun…

Have known of a man who they said would not walk but with his Friend and a year of PT in a pool…he was walking

Neck Pain Jaw

Why am I having grugling in right lower chest with pain in neck and jaw also on right side?

The other day I woke up with a stye in my right eye as well as severe pain in right lower jaw and neck area under ear. I have also been having strage gurgling feeling in my chest under my right breast. Could these things be realted?? Should I be worried..what are possible diagnosis?? Btw I am a 25yr old female with many health problems ie diabetes, fibromaylgia, arthritis (degenrative disc disease)(bulging disc).

You could be having both lung and heart problems. Diabetes is a risk factor in cardiac problems, and many heart attacks do not have pain in the heart at all, but pain in the neck and jaw are also rather common symptoms, especially in females. If your heart is not pumping strong enough, then fluid could be gathering in your lungs,m hence the gurgling feeling. Yes, you should be worried. You should go to the ER right away! With your general health and your risk factors, these symptoms could be very serious. It is better to make an unnecessary trip than to not go and find out you should have. If it is heart, the longer you wait, the more long term damage to your heart ,or even worse.

Alternatives to Chiropratic for chronic upper back and neck pain?

I’ve had upper back (shoulder) pain for a few years now (I’m 25) – and recently developed neck pain. Going to the chiropractor does hlpe alleviate the pain, but it does not go away completely. And I’m worried the more I go to the choripractor, the more I will need it.

I’ve tried sports therapy, osteopathy, acupuncture, chinese medicine ball, nothing has worked as good as chiropractic, but I would like an alternative.

You could try a TINs unit, which electronically blocks the pain signals that your body sends to your brain. You wear it on your hip like a cell phone, there are pads you attach to your body, where the pain bothers you.
I am on pain meds. They work great…BUT are practically impossible to quit on your own once you begin them. I don’t necessarily recommend THAT path.
Do you know WHY the pain is there? Have you had an MRI, X-rays? Once the reason is revealed, maybe your condition will be easier to treat.

Be well.

Neck Pain Muscle Spasm

Neck Spasm/Sharp Pain ? Please advice ! ! ! !?

What can cause the right side of my neck to feel like a quick stabbing pain, or a pinch on the inside that hurts for a few seconds and happens throughout the day. Yesterday I had a headache all day after it happened. Could this be a vein? A muscle spasm? What do you think? Please advice if you think this deserves medical attention.

Go see a doctor. I sometimes wake up with a stiff neck. Takes a few days to work out. Motrin usually helps. However, don’t get headaches with it. Your doctor can help you figure out what is wrong.

Stabbing pain in upper neck whenever first eating any strong tasting food?

I’m 21 and a male, I go to college

It’s happened my entire life and I can’t seem to find anyone else who has similar problems online. The pain quickly dissipates in seconds after I get used to the taste of a food. It’s not serious just an annoyance grimacing every time I take a first bite of anything even something delicious.

Any ideas what it may be?

Sounds like an issue with one of your parotid salivary glands! The facial cranial nerve wraps right around it and man can it really zing. You might mention it to your doctor; you could ask about getting the culprit salivary gland surgically removed. Due to the closeness of the facial nerve, though, the surgery could have risks that outweigh the annoying grimacing.

Tension Neck Pain

Will the pain in my neck and shoulder ever go away? What can I do to tolerate the pain?

I’m over 40 now, but ever since I was in my early 20’s I’ve had major pain in my shoulder/neck area.

I’m an anxious-type person, and though I usually wake up relaxed my muscles are usually tense all over by about 4PM.

The concentration of the muscle tension is in my left neck/shoulder and causes headaches and a general feeling of blah. When the pain gets really bad all I can think of is going to sleep so I can wake up relaxed.

I’ve been to many doctors. Each says its nothing physical. I’ve had x-rays, MRI, trigger-point injections, massage therapy, chiropractic, physical therapy & various drugs. The only drug I’ve been able to use that helped was Soma, because it doesn’t make me loopy but does reduce the feeling of pain significantly.
I’ve been taking Soma about a year and a half. Now the Dr says I’m taking too much (350mg 4x day) The label says take 1 every 6-8 hrs as needed. Why is Soma not an acceptable drug for longterm pain management if it works for managing my pain?

So… your muscles are tensed every day around 4? Imagine lifting too many weights every day. Working the same muscle groups every day, tearing muscle fibers in the process. You are not giving your muscles time to heal because you tense them up again the very next day. Even weight lifters give a muscle group at least a day to heal before working them again. Have you ever taken a vacation, by yourself, to someplace relaxing. Without your laptop, cell phone, or anything but maybe a book and a camera? I bet if you did this for a few days, without taking any medications with you, you’d find the source of your pain.

If I’ve misunderstood your description, you could look at it holistically: What weight have you been, or are you, carrying on your shoulders? Do you have something to tell someone? Perhaps a deep, dark secret? Think back to your early 20’s… is there anything you are holding onto? Like anger, resentment, or some other repressed emotion. Maybe it’s time to explore that route. Repression manifests pain and no doctor in the world will be able to spot that in you.
