Spinal Stenosis…Pain Relief?
My mother has been diagnosed with spinal stenosis, which is located at the very end of her back and is causing a pinched nerve in her hip, and is causing her excrutiating pain. Our doctor is very good; he calls and checks on her frequently, sent her to a specialist and had her injected with epidural shots, but to no avail. There was brief relief, but the pain came back just as strong.
Our doctor performed an MRI and another X-ray, and that’s when he diagnosed her with Stenosis. He is sending her to another specialist next week, and surgery seems necessary. Has anyone suffered from this? If so, what kind of pain killers/relief methods can you recommend until she has the surgery? What was your surgery procedure and recovery like? I am looking for any advice and encouragement right now! Thanx!
i have spinal compression in my lumbar spine and i know it’s not exactly what your mom is going thru. i do not want surgery so i have been taking oxycodone 10/325 up to 6 times a day and it helps most of the time.
good luck to you and your mom.
